Hospital protection plans are designed to provide a lump-sum benefit if the insured is admitted to a hospital due to a covered accident or illness. If a customer experiences a hospital stay covered by the policy, they can receive a payout to use any way they wish. This supplemental insurance, offered by Minnesota Life Insurance Company or Securian Life Insurance Company, can be used to help cover their medical or non-medical expenses not covered by health insurance.
